River Cleanse & Charge

Water is an incredibly effective method of cleansing and charging your crystals. Water is said to neutralize any negative energy stored inside the stone and return it back to the earth, which is especially true when using natural running water such as a river. However, some crystals are toxic in water and can go dull, rust, or even corrode. Keep reading to learn more about what crystals can be cleansed in water and how I cleanse and charge your crystals before they make it to your doorstep.

All water-safe crystals purchased from Lilac River Crystals will come cleansed and charged by water from the beautiful James River located in Richmond, Virginia.

I do extensive research on each crystal in my shop before I cleanse them in river water so there is never any damage done to the specimens. They will arrive to you in perfect condition with only their individual healing energies attached.

Popular water-safe crystals include:

  • Clear Quartz
  • Rose Quartz
  • Amethyst
  • Smokey Quartz
  • Citrine
  • Agate
  • Moonstone
  • Carnelian (not safe in salt water)
  • Rutilated Quartz
  • Jasper
  • Aventurine
  • Black Obsidian (can break in extreme cold or hot water)

All crystals that are not safe in water are cleansed and charged with incense sticks. To ensure there is no damage to the crystals, they are kept away from the ember and are passed through the smoke- surrounding it in the incense's healing properties.

Popular crystals that should NOT be put in water include:

  • Gypsum
  • Selenite
  • Celestite
  • Pyrite
  • Hematite
  • Azurite
  • Apatite
  • Malachite
  • Lepidolite
  • Opal
  • Fluorite
  • Apophyllite
  • Smithsonite
  • Lodestone
  • Jade (for an extended amount of time)
  • Halite
  • Ulexite
  • Angelite

Generally, most crystals that end in -ite are not suitable for water for one reason or another. A lot of the gemstones from this list will manage brief periods under running water for a quick clean, but putting them in water for long periods of time could ruin them.

Every stone from Lilac River Crystals is marked as either being cleansed in river water or incense as well as if they are water safe or not. If you have any questions regarding any of the crystals and their ability to be submerged in water, don't hesitate to ask- you can reach me at info@lilacrivercrystals.com.

If you prefer your crystals not be cleansed and charged with river water, please let me know in the notes section of your order. Please specify if you'd like an incense cleanse/charge for your stones or none at all. Thanks!
